Volvo’s electric truck range wins the 2027 International Truck of the Year award
Volvo Trucks’ heavy-duty electric truck range has won the International Truck of the Year 2027 award. The jury highlighted the suitability of electric trucks for an ever-increasing number of transport tasks.

The award-winning electric truck range includes the Volvo FH Electric, FM Electric, FMX Electric, and FH Aero Electric. According to the manufacturer, the upgrades deliver a longer range, greater payload capacity, and shorter charging times. The longest reported range in the lineup is up to 700 kilometers.

The models are designed for regional and long-haul transport, urban distribution, construction tasks, and municipal services. The jury highlighted in particular the longer range as well as the cab and chassis options, which allow the vehicles to be adapted to a variety of operational needs.

According to Volvo, its 7,000 electric trucks have driven a total of 500 million kilometers since 2019. Nearly 2,000 customers in more than 50 countries use these electric trucks.
Volvo Trucks CEO Roger Alm accepted the award at the IAA Transportation trade show in Hanover. This is the manufacturer’s eighth win and the second for the FH Electric.
